New LMS Features: Mandatory Flag & Bulk Edit Launch Today, February 12

These updates give you improved reporting, better visibility for learners, and faster administrative workflows.

Today, Thursday, February 12, two new LMS features are live — Mandatory Flag and Bulk Edit.

  • Mandatory Flag: Admins can now mark assignments as mandatory or optional. Reports can filter by Mandatory vs. Optional, so your compliance percentages will be more in line with mandatory education — not continuing education.
  • Bulk Edit: Quickly update multiple assignments at once, including completing courses, turning Mandatory on or off and adjusting dates.

Why this matters:
These updates give you improved reporting, better visibility for learners, and faster administrative workflows.

All assignments will default to Mandatory, and you can use the Bulk Edit toggle switch to adjust to optional as needed.

A short training video is available here to walk through the new features.

FAQs

Ever wonder why you’re asked to open the promotional, complete evaluations, or submit attestations in HCA courses? Our new FAQ breaks it down and explains how these steps protect your CE credit and improve course quality.

  1. Why do I have to open the promotional every time I access a Healthcare Academy (HCA) course?
    • The promotional document provides important course details, including CE requirements, target audience, learning objectives, and accreditation/disclosure information. We recommend learners—especially those completing courses for CE credit—print and keep it with their certificate in case of an audit.

  2. Why do I have to complete an evaluation for every HCA course?
    • A brief course evaluation is required for every course and helps us maintain and improve course quality. We review and incorporate learner feedback when we update existing courses and to help us determine which new courses to create. Completion of the evaluation typically takes 1–2 minutes at most to complete.

  3. Why do I have to complete an attestation?
    • The attestation is required to confirm that you personally completed the course in full and met all completion requirements (such as the required time in the course, quiz, and evaluation).
